The trouble is that the sound gets “scratchy” after the laptop has been booted for a while. Also there is an off chance your speakers could be defective.

I have the same question The current ones on Dell’s download page are the same as the ones that Dell shipped. What Notebook Should I Buy? How satisfied are you with this response? Inspironn the OS will rule out software fresh start vs an actual hardware issue.
